Information we collect
- Your email address, and your name and contact details if you provide them.
- The VIN, HIN, registration or plate number and vehicle details submitted for a report.
- Order, receipt, support and refund records.
- Basic technical and security data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and fraud signals.
Whop and its payment partners process payment-card details. We do not receive or store your complete card number.
Why we use it
We use personal information to accept and fulfil your order, generate and deliver reports, send transactional messages, provide support, prevent fraud, secure our service, keep accounting records, comply with law and establish or defend legal claims. We rely on your consent where required and otherwise process information as necessary to perform our agreement, meet legal obligations and pursue legitimate business and security interests.
Who receives it
We share information only as reasonably necessary with Whop and payment partners; vehicle-data and research providers; hosting, email, security and support suppliers; professional advisers; and public authorities when legally required. Data providers receive only the vehicle and order details needed to produce the requested report. We do not sell personal information.
International processing and safeguards
Some service providers may process information outside your province or Canada, where local authorities may lawfully access it. We use contractual, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and provider.
Retention and security
Core order and transaction records are generally retained for up to six years after the relevant tax year or longer where law, a dispute or fraud prevention requires it. Other operational and support records are deleted or anonymized when no longer reasonably needed. We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or ask us to delete information we no longer need. We may retain records required by law or necessary for valid business and legal purposes. Email us to make a request; we aim to respond within 30 days unless the law permits an extension.
Complaints and updates
Contact us first so we can investigate. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial privacy regulator. We may update this policy and will post the revised date on this page.
